As a member of the trans community myself, I have had to constantly advocate for myself and navigate through a non-inclusive healthcare system just to be who I am today. My goal is to use my extensive knowledge, both from my personal background and professional experience, to help serve the members of the trans community here around Brockton.”
Here at BAMSI’s Transgender Community Outreach Resources & Empowerment (TCORE) Program, we strive to empower transgender, non-binary, and genderqueer members of the community. From HIV screenings to referrals for gender affirming care, we support clients on every step of their journey. We are a team of trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive care specialists, focusing on meeting clients where they are.

Founded in 2018, BAMSI’s TCORE is one of the only providers of gender-affirming health navigation and resources to the South Shore’s gender-diverse community.
TCORE’s mission is to provide trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and other members of the LGBTQIA+ community with access to safe and affirming services as well as resources and opportunities to live a life on their terms. TCORE services include:
- Health navigation to gender-affirming medical and behavioral health care with trusted providers in the community
- Referrals to substance use treatment and recovery supports
- Access to clothing and the BAMSI Community Food Pantry
- Assistance with legal issues such as name change, housing assistance, and more
- Access to the TCORE Emergency Fund to aid with costs such as ID changes, birth certificate requests, utilities, rent, food, and others as needed
TCORE also offers harm-reduction services through the COPE Center at our 722 Belmont Street location. These no-cost and completely confidential services include free sexual health supplies, Narcan, walk-in HIV/STI testing, supportive PrEP and PEP referrals, and LGBTQIA+ support groups.
